DOVER - Saxton C. Lambertson passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. Saxton was born on November 11, 1927 in Dover to the late Gilbert and Clara Lambertson.
Saxton was born and raised on the family farm in Dover, Delaware and he was a man of many talents and worked several jobs throughout his life. He spent many years working with the Violent Crimes Commission, he reviewed building codes, worked with the county zoning commission and even served in the National Guard. Saxton started Lambertson Construction, where he worked as a general contractor. When he was not working, he could often be found in the air or at the beach. Saxton owned several planes that he loved to fly in his free time. He also had a home at Dewey Beach where he enjoyed fishing and boating. He was heavily involved in his community. Saxton was a member of Cheswold United Methodist Church, where he worked with trustees. He also was a member of the Camden-Wyoming Rotary Club and was involved with the Kent County Republican Party.
Saxton was preceded in death by son, Albert Lambertson; his beloved wife of 70 years, Mary Ann.
He is survived by, sons, William, Dennis (Sherri) and Steven (Chong), all of Dover; sisters, Betty Wharton (Bill) of Dover, Mary Moore of Camden; 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Services will be private, but friends are invited to join the family through a livestream that can be found on the Torbert Funeral Chapels' Facebook page. The service will be on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cheswold United Methodist Church, PO Box 191, Cheswold, DE 19963
