DOVER - Sarah Lynn Newsome of Silver Springs, Fla., formerly of Dover, Del., went to be with our Lord and Savior on Nov. 28, 2013. Mrs. Newsome was born the daughter of the late Emory F. Zedney and Agnes C. Barnes Zedney on Jan. 13, 1959, in Milford, Delaware. Sarah, along with her husband Larry, was co-owner of Larry's Liquors up until the time of sale in 2003. In the early years of the business, Sarah noticed the majority of sales were from beer, with liquor second, and wine a distant third. Being naturally business minded, she convinced her husband to put more emphasis on wine sales. As a result of her insight, by 1990 the business expanded and grew with the creation of Sarah's Wine Room, which became very successful and helped catapult Larry's Liquors into a well known and respected business in the community. She was a spirited and loving person who always put others ahead of herself. She had a huge generous heart which was especially expressed towards children and animals. She will be sorely missed, but will be celebrated through memories. She is survived by her loving husband, Larry David Newsome; her grandson, Bryan Pastre of N. Fort Myers, Fla.; three brothers, Steve Zedney and his partner Donna Thomas of Marion, N.C., David Zedney and his wife Beth of Waxhaw, N.C., and Glen Zedney and his wife Irene of Westminster, Md.; three sisters, Fran Newhouse of Federalsburg, Md., Karen Jerread and her husband William of Seaford, Del., and Sharon Contini of Laurel, Del.; her sister-in-law, Fran Zedney of Roy, Utah; her goddaughter and godson, Lori Armes and Matthew Clark, both of Seaford; and eight nieces and five nephews. A viewing will be held on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013 at 9 a.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, DE. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Lawn Croft Cemetery in Linwood, Pa. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Marion County Florida Hospice, 2897 SE 62nd St., Ocala, FL 34480. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
