MASSEY, Md. - Sarah H. Starkey of Massey died Wednesday, April 18, 2007, in Chester River Manor, Chestertown. She was 80.
Mrs. Starkey was born Oct. 13, 1926, daughter of the late Charles L. and Mary Elizabeth Lockwood Hollett.
She worked for Dupont Co., Campbell Soup and Leeds Travel Ware before retiring.
A lifetime resident of Kent County, Mrs. Starkey was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Millington and enjoyed gardening and sewing.
She was preceded in death by two brothers Louis Hollett and Charles "Buck" Hollett; and a sister, M. Elizabeth Starkey.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Elwood D. Starkey Jr.; three daughters and three sons-in-law, Carol and Jim Rhoades of Townsend, Del., Peggy and Larry Hanifee of Galena, and Kathleen and Allan Leager of Kennedyville; a son and a daughter-in-law, David and Elizabeth Starkey of Millington; a brother J. Merritt Hollett of Newark, Del.; a sister, Ethel Kelley of Massey; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery, Millington.
