Sara Ellen Swann Richard, 91

GOLDSBORO, Md. - Sara Ellen Swann Richard, of Goldsboro, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, in the Caroline Nursing Home, Denton. She was 91. She was born in Ridgely on July 31, 1917, the daughter of the late Harry Carlton, Sr. and Ella Swing Swann. She is survived by two sons, Harry E. Sr. and wife Lori Richard, H. Eugene Jr. and wife Kate Richard; one daughter, Eugene's twin sister, Neta R. and husband Ken Steenken; two grandsons, Harry Earl Richard Jr. and wife Becky, and Herbert Edward Richard; one granddaughter, Candance Shol and husband Santiago; two great-grandsons, James and Stephen Shol. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Eugene Richard Sr.; brother, Harry Carlton Swann Jr.; and sister Mildred Swann. Visitation will be held at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W Sunset Ave; Greensboro on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Trinity United Methodist Church, 304 Church Lane, Goldsboro. Burial will be in Greensboro Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 153, Goldsboro, MD 21636. Condolences may be sent via www.fleegleandhelfenbein.com.
