Sandra I. Wharton

I. Wharton, 49 LEWES - Sandra (Sandy) I. Wharton, age 49, of Lewes, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, after a brief illness. Sandy as she was fondly known by her family and friends, was born Sept. 21, 1962, in Lewes to the late Joshua L. and Alma I. King Wharton. Sandy was a member of Conley UM Church where she attended since youth. Sandy attended Cape Henlopen High & Sussex Vo-Tech center, graduating with a diploma in Cosmetology in the class of 1981. Sandy loved her family very much and especially enjoyed the time she was able to spend babysitting and caring for her little Angel Brooklyn. Survivors include, her husband of 30 years, Rodney E. (Bootsie) Harmon; two Sons: Joshua A. Wharton and Ashley Knutsen of Lewes, and Rodney A. Wharton of Lewes; one granddaughter, Brooklyn N. Wharton; and two brothers, Donald R. Daisey and Joshua L. and Dina Deakyne Wharton, all of Lewes. Services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at Conley Chapel UM Church, 12250 Robinsonville & Conley Chapel Road, Lewes, where friends may call two hours before service. Rev. Mike Hurley will officiate. Arrangements by Miller Funeral Services.
