SUDLERSVILLE, Md. - Ruth G. Winterstein of Sudlersville died on Thursday March 29, 2007, in her home. She was 96.
Mrs. Winterstein was born in Baltimore County, Md., the daughter of the late George and Bertha Burton.
Mrs. Winterstein was a graduate of Towson High School and a 1931 graduate of what is now Towson State University. She taught English in the Baltimore County school system for a short period of time.
Mrs. Winterstein was a homemaker working on the family farm, producing many kinds of vegetables.
In 1950, Mr. and Mrs. Wintersein moved to Sudlersville and became dairy farmers and continued in the dairy business until Mr. Wintersteins death in 1991.
Mrs. Winterstein was a member of the Waugh United Methodist Church in Glen-Arm Md. and she loved reading Civil War stories.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Winterstein was preceeded in death by her husband, Clarence William Winterstein in 1991; two grandsons, Tim Weller and Little Bill Winterstein; five sisters; and three brothers.
Mrs. Winterstein is survived by a son, William L. and his wife, Jean; two daughters, Norma R. Weller and her husband, Charles and Betty Elburn and her husband, James, all of Sudlersville; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Fellows Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home 370 W. Cypress St. Millington where friends and family may call tonight from 7 to 9.
Interment will be in the Sudlersville Cemetery.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory to the charity of your choice.
