Ruth Emch Jardine, 79
DOVER - Ruth Emch Jardine, of Dover, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2008, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 79.
She was born June 23, 1928, in Youngstown, Ohio, daughter of the late Jesse and Marie (Smelts) Emch.
Ruth enjoyed life as a homemaker.
Her hobbies included sewing, gardening and china painting, and she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was an active member of the Grace Presbyterian Church, Dover, and a past president and member of the Christian Women's Club.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 59 years, John W. Jardine Jr.; children, Linda K. Duncan and her husband John of New Richmond, Ohio, John W. "Bill" Jardine and his wife Elaine of Machipongo, Va., James A. Jardine and his wife Mary Louise of Newark, Ohio, and Beth A. Reynolds of Magnolia; grandchildren, John Duncan, Jennica (Jardine) Whitfield, Heidi (Jardine) McVay, John "Billy" Jardine, Brandi (Duncan) Harrington, Krista (Jardine) Montalvo, Justin Jardine, Kari Jardine, David Duncan, Brian Jardine, John Reynolds and Laura Reynolds; siblings, Paul Emch of Valley Cottage, N.Y., and Mildred Bell of Boardman, Ohio; in-laws, Jean Ann Emch of Pittsburgh, Jean Helton and her husband Glen of Nicholasville, Ky., and Marge Bricker and her husband Paul of New Concord, Ohio; and seven great-grandchildren, Jacob Duncan, Elizabeth Duncan, Luke Duncan, Alex Harrington, Nathan Harrington, Makayla Jardine and Katlyn Jardine.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Friday at Grace Presbyterian Church, 350 McKee Road, Dover.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, where friends may also call one hour before services.
Burial will be Monday at John Anderson Memorial Cemetery, Aliquippa, Pa.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Grace Presbyterian Church, Ruth Jardine Memorial Fund for Youth Mission, 350 McKee Road, Dover, DE 19904; or Christian Women's Club, Village Mission, c/o of Grace Presbyterian Church.
