Ruth E. Haggerty, 89 LITTLE CREEK - Ruth E. Haggerty, of Little Creek, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2008, in Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was 89. She was born on Sept. 29, 1918, in Wilmington, to the late Temple and Vera Bacon Jackson. Ruth was a member and one of the founders of the Ladies Auxiliary of Little Creek Vol. Fire Co. and was also was a Kent County Democratic Committee Woman. She moved to Kent County in 1934 from Wilmington. She and her husband Harry married in 1935. Ruth worked for the state of Delaware at Legislative Hall from 1959 to 1985 as a Attache to the Senate and the House of Representatives and also in that time was the Assistant Chief Clerk to the Senate. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry in 1981. Ruth is survived by son, Harry "Jack" Haggerty of Little Creek; granddaughter and her husband, Tami and Mike Davidson of Fenwick Island; grandsons, Shawn M. Haggerty, Lonnie Haggerty, and Randy Haggerty; four great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter. Remembrance services will be noon Monday in Trader Funeral Home, Dover, where friends may call two hours prior. Burial will be at the Sharon Hill Memorial Park, Dover.
