Ruby Lee Jones

Ruby Lee Jones, 72

DOVER - Ruby Lee Jones, of Dover, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, in her home, surrounded by her family. She was 72.

Mrs. Jones was born Jan. 26, 1935, in Danville, Va., to the late Robert and TryPhena McCaden.

She was the proprietor of two beauty salons and operated them for more than 27 years in Paterson and Hillside, N.J.

After moving to Dover, Mrs. Jones started her own cleaning service.

She enjoyed cleaning and interior decorating.

Mrs. Jones loved the finer things in life. She was a very classy lady.

Her priorities were God and family.

Mrs. Jones' legacy was to have a good name and love the Lord. She wanted to be all that she could be and live life to the fullest.

In addition to her parents and her brother, John E. Badgett of Virginia, she was preceded in death by her son, Allen Jones Jr., on Aug. 10, 2002.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband of 56 years, Allen Y. Jones Sr. of Dover; her daughter, Priscilla Gore and her husband Cephus of Dover; six grandchildren, Christopher and his wife Tomika Gore of Dover, Marcel and his wife Casey Gore of Milford, Lakesha Gore of Dover, and Lateef Jones, Edward Earl Jones and Nazlah Jones, all of Philadelphia; and one great-grandchild, Bryttani Gore of Milford.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, 301 Walker Road, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior.

Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Dover.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to First Baptist Church, 301 Walker Road, Dover, DE 19904.
