HOWELL, N.J. - Ruben D. "Beau" Bolado, of Howell, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at home. He was 65.
Beau was born Feb. 28, 1942, in Rio Grande City, Texas, to Ruben D. Bolado Sr. and Pauline (Coker) Bolado.
He lived most of his adult life in New Castle County, Del., before moving to Howell in 2001.
Beau lived a full and interesting life.
He was employed by the Hercules Country Club, Hockessin, Del., until his retirement in 2000. Prior to that, he was a master carpenter.
Beau's many hobbies included acting in the Arden Theater, training and racing sled dogs and traveling.
A good, gentle and opinionated man, he touched many lives and was loved by those who knew him.
Beau will be greatly missed.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by four children, Michael R. Bolado, Michele R. Ferrari and her husband Juan and son Joshua, Matthew R. Bolado and his wife Sarah and son Colin, and Marc R. Bolado and his partner Kristen Blauvelt; three siblings, Ruby Ann and her husband John Persinger, Susan Stewart and her husband Dean, and Valerie Teal and her husband Ricky; his stepmother, Alice Morey; and his ex-wife and the mother of his children, Betty Duncan.
He was predeceased by his second wife, Judy Dahl. He married Sandi Rowland in 2002 and was later divorced. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Joel Bolado.
In addition to his immediate family, Beau had many nieces and nephews, but was especially close to his sister Ruby's children, Chris and Kevin McNeely.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11 a.m. Jan. 19 at St. Polycarp Roman Catholic Church, Smyrna, Del.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Beau's memory may be made to a local Humane Society.
