Roy Linwood Seward, 61 GOLDSBORO, Md. - Roy Linwood Seward, 61, of Goldsboro, died Monday, July 12, 2010, in Centreville. He was born on Dec. 9, 1948, in Goldsboro, to the late Linwood Herman and Ruth Anne Bell Seward. Mr. Seward was a graduate of North Caroline High School. He managed the Mosquito Abatement Program for Queen Anne's County, retiring after 33 years of service. He was an active softball coach earning membership to the Maryland Softball Hall of Fame; he also served on their Board of Directors. He was Deputy Commissioner for the Amateur Softball Association of America and Umpire-In-Chief of the US Modified Softball Association. He coached the Merchants Girls Softball team for over 20 years taking them to Nationals for nineteen times. He was a member of the Harrington Moose Lodge # 534, being very active as a Moose Riders. He played pool and was a member of the Bay BCA Pool League of Maryland and lower Delaware, serving as the league Operator. His greatest loves were motorcycle riding, hunting and playing pool. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Nancy L. Seward; one son, Ronald L. Orendorf II and wife Lisa of Greensboro; one daughter, Renee Rostien and husband Devereaux of Sudlersville; one brother, Ronnie Seward and wife Debbie of Felton; four grandchildren, Tyler Rostien, Jordyn Rostien, Laurel Orendorf, and Travis Orendorf; three stepchildren, Wayne, Steven, and Shari; eight step grandchildren, and one step great-grandson. Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Fleegle & Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W Sunset Ave., Greensboro, where a vistation will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, Felton.
