MILFORD - Roxanne R. Danburg, 53, of Milford, and formerly of Miller, S.D., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013 at Avera Hand County Memorial Hospital in Miller, S.D. Roxanne was born July 9, 1960 to Raymond and Rose (Martinmaas) Danburg in Miller, S.D. She joined a family of three brothers, Larry, Dan and Jerry; and one sister, Marilyn. Roxie was the youngest of the family with beautiful red hair, and from the very beginning the love of music became an important part of her entire life. She attended grade school at Miller Elementary and graduated from Miller High School in 1978. During those high school years she shared her love and talent in music by singing and performing at various school and local functions. Roxie then headed to SDSU to pursue a music major. She moved on from there to obtain a cosmetology degree in Colorado, still using her musical talent by performing with several bands. After that, she and a girlfriend decided to move to Delaware. In Delaware, she met the love of her life, Mike Kemp. She began a life with Mike and his two children, Trisha and Josh. Mike and Roxie spent 29 years living on Slaughter Beach, near Milford. During her years in Delaware, she worked at The Bridal Boutique, but her most enjoyable job was being a librarian at the Milford Public Library. She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Danburg; and sister, Marilyn Danburg. Her memory will be cherished by "Her Man", Mike Kemp and his children, Trisha and Josh Kemp of Milford; mother, Rose Danburg of Miller, S.D.; brothers, Jerry and wife Barb Danburg of Pueblo, Colo., Larry and wife Dee Danburg of Miller, S.D., and Dan Danburg and fiancé, Kelli Nelson of Aberdeen; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
