Roxanne Melvin passed away on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, at Bayhealth Medical Center. She was born on July 27, 1954 in Dover to the late John Bodine, Sr. and Catherine S. Truitt.
During her life before becoming disabled, Roxanne was a home health care provider. She enjoyed watching baseball, football, women's softball, and NASCAR racing. Her favorite NASCAR driver was Joey Logano.
In addition to her parents, Roxanne was preceded in death by her brothers, John Bodine, Jr., Larry Bodine, Steve Bodine; and a stepfather, William Allen.
Roxanne is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Ernest W. Melvin Sr.; son, Ernest W. Melvin Jr.; daughter, Sara Orlando (Anthony); brothers, Kenneth and Gary Bodine; sisters, Deloris Dill (Mitchell) and Sandra Morris; five grandchildren, Christian, Noah, and Lucas Orlando, and McKenzie and Wesley Melvin; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, Jan. 11, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Trader's Funeral Home, 12 Locus Street, Dover. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dover Fire Department, 103 S. Governors Avenue, Dover, DE 19904.
