BLUFFTON, S.C. - Rose M. Powell of Bluffton, formerly of Bethany Beach, Del., passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, in the Coastal Carolina Medical Center, Harreeville, with her family by her side. She was 83.
She was born in West Grove, Pa., daughter of the late Constantine and Assunta DiFilippo.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. Powell.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Jerry Mikolaitis, with whom she lived for the last six years; two grandsons, George W. And Stephen J. Maybroda; great-granddaughters, Alysha and Julia Rose Maybroda; a brother, Constantine DiFilippo; and two sisters, Lucy Rahll and Anne Basillio.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the Bethany Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, West Avenue, Ocean View.
After the memorial service there will be a luncheon at the Chalkboard Restaurant at Sea Colony Market Place.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Rose's memory to Hospice Care of America, 211 Professional Village Circle, Beaufort, SC 29907.
