Roscoe B. Adams, 80 GEORGETOWN - Roscoe B. Adams, 80, of Georgetown, died at home Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010. He is son of the late Ernest J. Adams, Sr. and Bertha E. Morris Adams. Mr. Adams was a Tech at Arundel Corp. for 10 years. He retired after 20 years (1947 - 1967) in the United States Army during the Korean and Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart, GCMDL 5th Award, Air Medal, VCM, VNSN and 1 O/S Bar. He was a member of the Milton V.F.W. Post 6984. He was an avid reader and loved NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Dorothy W. Adams and her two children Howard A. Walstead Jr. and James J. Walker; two brothers, Wilbert and John E. Adams, Jr.; and three sisters, Margarette Webb, Helen Adams and Doris Howell. He is survived by two stepchildren, Denise W. Walstead of Milton, and Gary Walstead and his wife Bonnie of Georgetown; three sisters and three brothers Jeanette Wingate of Dagsboro, Martha Landon of Milford, Grace Byrd of Port Charlotte, Fla., Calvin Adams of Georgetown, Clinton Adams of Hartley, and Robert Dale Adams of Ellendale; seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be noon, Saturday, Feb. 20, in the Chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 East Market Street, Georgetown, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Georgetown Public Library, 10 W. Pine St., Georgetown, DE 19947.
