Rosalie L. 'Roey' Goodall, 92
CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Rosalie L. "Roey" Goodall of Chestertown died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, in Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown. She was 92.
She was born in Philadelphia on Sept. 5, 1915, daughter of the late Harry and Edna (Lewis) Ludwig.
A graduate of Lansdowne (Pa.) High School, Mrs. Goodall worked as the school secretary at Highland Avenue School in Lansdowne.
She met Richard Biddle Goodall while boating on the Chesapeake Bay and in 1940 they married.
Mrs. Goodall raised her family in the Lansdowne and Haverford, Pa., areas until moving to Still Pond, Md., in 1976.
A dedicated volunteer, Mrs. Goodall gave of her time to Haverford State Hospital, Kent County Christmas Basket Project and Chester River Hospital Center.
She was devoted to her family and enjoyed traveling.
Mrs. Goodall was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 6, 1994.
She is survived by five children, Richard L. Goodall, Douglas K. Goodall, Lynn Benjamin, Judy Spurrier, all of Chestertown, and Jane Loughridge of Worton; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church, where relatives and friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Interment will be held privately.
Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to Chester River Hospital Center Auxiliary, 100 Brown St., Chestertown, MD 21620; or the United Way of Kent County, 819 High St., Chestertown, MD 21620.
