MILLSBORO - Ronald M. Widner died suddenly on July 22, 2018 at his home in Millsboro.
He is survived by his loving mother, Marietta DiGiovanni Darden; his brother, William Widner; and his daughter, Christin Widner. He also leaves behind many family members and friends.
Ron or Ronnie to his friends and family was a free spirit who loved music, the arts, and travel. He wrote poetry and songs and loved to perform in bands and make people laugh. His eyes and smile would light up any room that he entered. Ron enjoyed traveling all over the country and never liked to stay in one place too long. He enjoyed cooking and always gave a helping hand to those in need. Ron also loved animals, nature, and the beach. He was a gentle soul and will be dearly missed.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main Street in Smyrna. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Delaware Suicide Prevention Coalition by visiting http://www.contactlifeline.org/.
