Kyser, 74 HOUSTON - Ronald E. (Ron) Kyser of Houston, passed away suddenly on Friday afternoon, May 30, 2014 from Bayhealth-Kent General, of a massive heart attack. He was 74. Ron was born on April 25, 1940 in Olean, N.Y., son of the late Edward and Onnolee Austin Kyser. He was a graduate of Allegany Central High School and the State University of New York at Buffalo (Buffalo State). Most of Ron's adult life was spent living and working in New Jersey. He retired as an Industrial Arts educator from the Basking Ridge, N.J. school system. Ron enjoyed traveling in his motor home, attending and following NASCAR races, especially his favorite driver, Jeff Gordon. He loved his dog, Colby. Surviving are two daughters, Kim Austin of Georgia and Jennifer (Greg) Hooper of Arizona; one sister, Marilyn (Don) Fisher of Severna Park, Md.; two brothers, Raymond (Janet) Kyser of Allegany, N.Y. and Alan (Mary Lou) Kyser of Olean, N.Y.; and six grandchildren. He is also survived by three children of his beloved companion, Phyllis Blackwell (who predeceased Ron three years ago) and their families, Thomas Blackwell, Karen Woronick and Chris Czerniach; his loving girlfriend, Helen Scheltz; and his first wife, Robin Deschak; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ron was also predeceased by a sister, Virginia, who died in childhood; and his second wife, Nancy Fox Kyser. At Ron's request, there will be no visitation or funeral. A celebration of his life and memorial service will be held at a later date.
