Ronald E. Hudson, 65

GEORGETOWN - Ronald E. Hudson, of Georgetown, passed away in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, Friday, Nov. 28, 2008. He was 65. Mr. Hudson was born in Milford, the son of the late George and Pearl (Hitchens) Hudson . Mr. Hudson was an engineer for Diamond State Telephone Co., retiring after 27 years . He was currently working part time for Delaware Technical Community College, Georgetown. He was a member of the Diamond State Telephone Pioneers, Selbyville Elks, and Georgetown Jaycees. He was a charter member of Sussex Pines Country Club and served many positions with the Georgetown Little League and Pop Warner Football. He was a member of the Sussex Central Football Chain Gang and was an avid golfer, bowler and NASCAR Fan . Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Zott) Hudson; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Dawn Hudson of Lewes; a sister, Mary Ellen Donaway of Georgetown; and five grandchildren, Lindsay Watson, Tyler Hudson, Caitlyn Hudson, Ashlyn Steel and Tyler Loftus . Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 East Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be private.
