ELLENDALE - Ronald Cosme of Ellendale died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, in Ellendale. He was 39.
Ron was born in April 1968 in Milford.
He graduated from Milford High School, where he was captain of the football team, ran track and was a top scholar. Ron was very popular in high school and had the nickname "Smiley."
Ron attended West Point (N.Y.) Military Academy.
He was operations superintendent at Perdue Farms, Georgetown, were he was a devoted supervisor and employee.
Ron was an avid reader and enjoyed physical fitness, music and travel.
He found much joy in spending time with family, attending Yankees baseball games and discussing interesting topics with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eliza Ann Cosme Serrano; and his maternal grandmother, Alma Shelborne.
He is survived by his children, Ronald Cosme and Brittany Cosme, both of Dover, and Eliza Bennett of New York; his father and stepmother, Luis G. Cosme and Martha Alvarado of Lincoln; his siblings, Elaina Shelborne of Ellendale, Jennifer Cosme Henry of Beltsville, Md., Ventura Sanchez of West Virginia, Luis E. Cosme of Dover, and David Cosme of Slaughter Neck; and a host of nieces and nephews, as well as many beloved cousins, friends and other relatives.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, Beach Highway/Del. 16, Ellendale, where friends and family may call two hours prior.
Interment will follow at Siloam Church Cemetery in Slaughter Neck.
