'Ronnie' Hughes, 64 FELTON - Ronald Albert "Ronnie" Hughes, 64, of Felton, passed away peacefully, on Feb. 21, 2012, at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. He was born July 16, 1947, to Margaret Ware and the late Mervin Hughes. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Edith Edwards Hughes; and maternal grandparents, John and Elizabeth Vincent Ware; and his father, Mervin Hughes. Ronnie worked for Tudor Electric in his earlier years. He was a heavy equipment operator and truck driver for most of his life. He was quick with a joke and loved amusing family and friends. Ronnie had a heart of gold and would do anything for those he loved. He is survived by his mother and step father, Margaret and Charles Ware of Lewes; his wife of 35 years, Diane Price Hughes of Felton; a daughter, Michelle of Dover; a son, Ronald of Felton; and step-daughter, Tammy Kemp of Felton; a brother, Larry Hughes of Felton; sisters, Carol Pastore and her significant other John Pender of Camden, Sandy and Rob Kramer of Dover, Pam and David Kaplan of Lewes, Jennifer and Wesley Herholdt of Milford and Debbie and John "Smitty" Smith of Felton; 13 grandchildren, who he truly loved; and a host of nieces and nephews who adored him. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Felton Fire Company Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 946, Felton, DE 19943; or Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963. The family would like to thank the Delaware Hospice Center, Dr. David Jawahara for his excellent care and concern during his illness and the Felton Ambulance Squad for the numerous transports to the hospital during his illness. A memorial service will be Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at 7 p.m., in the chapel of Berry Short Funeral Home, Main Street, Felton, where friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. Burial will be private. Arrangements handled by Berry Short Funeral Home, Felton.
