MILLSBORO - Roger Lee Sipple of Millsboro, Del., formerly of Smyrna, Del. passed away on April 2, 2021. Roger was the son of Paul and Doris of Smyrna.
He was preceded in death by sister, Paula of Middletown; and is survived by brother, Barry of Lewes. Roger is survived by his daughter, Julia of Smyrna; former spouse and friend, Lisa of Smyrna; as well as many extended family members and friends.
Before graduation from Smyrna High in 1981, Roger began working for Apgar Turf Farm where he saved to buy one of his favorite cars, an Austin-Healey Sprite.
He chose the trade of carpentry and worked for local companies including Marcum Contractors, eventually starting his own business, R & L Sipple Contractors, and later worked with his brother at Laurel Motor Company before retiring in 2013 due to illness.
After retirement, Roger spent his time at the beach doing plenty of grilling, boating, and swapping stories with his friends and neighbors of White House Beach. He often referred to his home as "living in paradise" and enjoyed many years of fishing, crabbing and golf-cart riding, all within his own neighborhood.
Roger was legendary for his quick wit, expansive joke catalog, and mischievous pranks. He always had a project, from woodworking to boats, to cars to gardening, and excelled at them all.
Services will be private and a memorial gathering will be planned later this summer.
