DOVER - Roberta H. Hartnett, "Bobbie" passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Kent General Hospital in Dover. She was born on Dec. 10, 1941 in Atlantic City, N.J., the daughter of the late Fiore and Paula Merlino. Mrs. Hartnett retired as a Training Manager for Verizon. Bobbie was an avid member of the Telecom Pioneers and also a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association. She loved to travel, volunteering for many charities, and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Freddie and Andrew; and her step-daughter, Sandy. She is survived by her husband of 12 years, Edward; two sons, Robert and James; two daughters, Judith and Jennifer; three step-daughters, Sara, Geneva and Grace; her step-son, Frankie; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and her brothers, Barry and Michael. A viewing will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2014 at the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 South Main St., Smyrna DE. Funeral services will begin at 6 p.m. Burial will be private.
