Robert S. Whitlock, 74

MIDDLETOWN - Robert S. Whitlock of Middletown passed away peacefully Saturday, March 24, 2007, in his home, surrounded by his family. He was 74.

Mr. Whitlock worked at the MOT Senior Center for the past 10 years. Previously he had worked for Smokey's Gulf in Middletown for nine years and was a meat cutter for ACME Markets for 31 years at the stores in Elkton, Md. and Centerville, Md.

He was a past governor of the Middletown Moose Lodge and also served as a fire police with the Middletown Volunteer Hose Co.

He was an avid WWF and NASCAR fan, and enjoyed fishing and spending time with family in his spare time.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Helen; a daughter, Connie Hamby and her fiancée, Ted Huff of Townsend; a granddaughter, Amanda Lolley of Townsend; a sister, Mary Dixon of Middletown; a brother, William "Billy" Whitlock and his wife, Carol Ann of Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Townsend Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, in Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, DE 19709.
