Robert P. Guenette, 72

MILLSBORO - Robert P. Guenette of Millsboro, formerly of Gaithersburg, Md., passed away Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007, in the Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was 72.

He was born Dec. 2, 1934, in North Adam, Mass.

Mr. Guenette earned his bachelor"s degree in bacteriology from the University of Massachusetts in 1961.

He was a retired micro biologist, working as the directorate of epidemiology for the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Mr. Guenette was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Air Force.

He was an avid outdoors men, photographer and loved his trips to Alaska.

Mr. Guenette was a member of the Frink Center for Wildlife and past president of the Coastal Camera Club.

He was preceded in death by his father, Philip Guenette.

He is survived by his mother, Claire (Meunier) Guenette of Fitchburg, Mass; a son, Pierre Guenette and his wife, Monica of Lavaca, Ark.; his daughter, Renee Parker and her husband, Kyle of Ft. Smith, Ark.; two brothers, Paul Guenette and his wife, Dianne of Turners Falls, Mass., Philip Guenette and his wife, Sheila of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; a sister, Simone Menoche and her husband, Richard of Providence, R.I.; four grandchildren, Jessica Guenette and Shawna Guenette, Marshall Parker and Christian Parker.

Services were private.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Robert"s memory to, Boy"s and Girl"s Club, 4905 N. O Street, Ft. Smith, AK 72904.
