DOVER - Robert M. Waidley, Jr. passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Waidley was born June 9, 1942, in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late Robert M. Waidley, Sr. and Marion M. Knapp Waidley.
He retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant after 26 years of service. During his time in the Air Force, Sergeant Waidley served in the Office of Special Investigations and assisted in resolving the Iran Hostage Crisis. After his military career he worked in telesales with MBNA and concluded his career as one of the Dover site's top three producers in sales. He was a lifetime member of the American Philatelic Society and a passionate supporter of the ASPCA. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved family and dogs.
He is survived by his sons, Paul Waidley and his wife Jane of St. Albans, England and Steven Waidley of Dover, Del.; grandchildren, Emily and James.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2022, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.
