MIDDLETOWN, Del. - Robert Lee Smith, 'Zeke' passed away on March 8, 2022.
Bob was born on April 7, 1937 in Carlos, Md., son of the late Robert W. and Loretta McCloud Smith. He was raised in West Virginia, moving to Still Pond, Md. in 1957. In 1967 he began his career with Johnson Control's, retiring in 1999 after 32 years of service. He was a member of Dover Elks, Smyrna American Legion and Camden-Wyoming Moose.
Along with his parents; he was preceded by daughter in law, Patti Smith; grandson, Robert Lee Smith, II; brother, Ben Smith; and sisters, Georgie Smith and Loretta Scott.
Bob is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 64 years, Betty Jean Capel Smith; children, R. Eugene 'Gene' Smith (Terri), Michael A. Smith and Kathleen E. Holland (Kenny); siblings, Johnny Smith, Christine Smith, Ernestine Miller, Tommy Smith (Judy), Joann Delbrook (Minto) and Donald Smith (Kathy); five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, Galena, Md. where funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. Burial will follow in Chester Cemetery, Chestertown, Md.
