Robert L. 'Runt' Sinex Sr., 72
MILLSBORO - Robert L. "Runt" Sinex Sr. of Millsboro died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, in his home. He was 72.
Mr. Sinex was born March 30, 1934, one of 15 children of the late Thomas and Ruth (Clay) Sinex.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.
A member of Union Local 199, he worked for a variety of local companies before retiring in 1994.
Mr. Sinex was an avid hunter, fisherman and bowler, and also enjoyed collecting Native American artifacts and memorabilia.
He was a longtime member of AMVETS of Delaware and the American Legion Post in Millsboro.
Known by family and friends for his many practical jokes and wonderful sense of humor, Mr. Sinex will be fondly remembered for his enthusiastic personality, the joy with which he approached each day and his determination to live his life to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary (Browan) Sinex, in 2004.
He is survived by a daughter and a son-in-law, Catherine and Donald Sagers of Newark; a son, Robert L. Sinex Jr. of Newark; four sisters, Joan Eisenhart of Elsmere, Emma McGarity of New Castle, Agnes Reno of Millington, Md., and Mary Werzenski of Townsend; six grandchildren, Forrest, Tyler, Jessica, Brandy, Zack and Joshua; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the Spicer-Mullikan Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where friends may call from 9:30 a.m.
Burial will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Compassionate Care Hospice, 201-B West DuPont Highway, Millsboro, DE 19966.
