SMYRNA, Del. - Robert G. Brittingham passed away at home on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.
Robert was born February 11, 1931 in Millsboro, Delaware, son of Charles and Bertha Brittingham.
He worked most of his life in construction, finishing his career with VBW.
Robert married Doris Shelton on February 7, 1953. They just celebrated 69 years together.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his 11 siblings, James, Helen, Alice, Norma, Alvin, Ralph, Joe, Hazel, Betty, Merrill, and Charlie.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; and children, Greg, Gail Wicks (Arthur), Pam, and Bonnie Dixon (Glenn); grandchildren, Jaime Carlson (Lee), Lauren Collett (Justin), Arthur Wicks, III (Krysten), Lindsay Whaley and Chase Whaley; and four great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. at Faries Funeral Chapel located at 29 S. Main Street in Smyrna. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 12 p.m. with visitation one hour prior at 11 a.m. Burial services will take place at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 16 Polly Drummond Center 2nd Floor, Newark, DE 19711.
