FELTON - Robert "Bob" E. Snyder, Sr., or as he was known by many 'Warden', passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Milford Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 6, 1937 at 8:44 pm to the late William 'Bill' and Laura Mae Snyder. Bob worked for the State of Delaware for 35 years in the Department of Corrections. He became the Warden of MCI in 1977 and retired in 2001. He enjoyed going out to eat with friends and being around his animals. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Snyder; and son, Robert 'Bob' Snyder Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Liz Snyder; sister, Jeanette Markessinis; and many brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Main St., Felton, DE 19943, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery in Harrington.
