GEORGETOWN - Robert "Bob" David Pettit Sr. passed away on Jan. 10, 2016 at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes of natural causes. Bob was born on Jun. 14, 1954 in Bridgeton, N.J. to John Newlin Pettit and Irene Gladys Hutton "Jones". Bob is survived by his step-father, Jerry W. Jones; seven children, Kimmie Pettit, Lisa M. Jones, Karen M. Jones, Bobby and his wife Wendy Pettit, Joey Taylor, Sara Pettit and Johnny Pettit; and seven grandkids, Chad, MaNya, Joey Jr. "JJ", Gage, Kimora, Corbin and Jaden. In his earliest days, he enjoyed spending his time as a mechanic. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Bob was a diehard Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan, his favorite line was "BOB PETTIT AND DON'T YOU FORGET IT!" A celebration of life service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St. Georgetown, where friends may call from 5 pm to 7 p.m. for a time of visitation. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to your favorite charity in Bob's name.
