MILLINGTON, Md. - Robert Charles Miller Sr., 78 of Millington, died Aug. 23, 2009, in Chestertown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Miller was born on Oct. 31, 1930, in Glenolden, Pa., son of the late Royal V. and Emma Blauser Miller. He began his career with Westinghouse as a Quality Control Engineer, retiring in 1993 after 39 years of service. He had lived in Clifton Heights before moving to Kent County in 1972. He was a member of the Millington Moose Lodge, holding numerous offices, coached pony league baseball and loved to hunt. As a dedicated grandfather he always attended his grandsons sporting events. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert C. Miller Jr. in 2005; and a sister, Janice Lowthert. Mr. Miller is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen Sommers Miller; son, Craig Miller and wife Karen of Millington; a foster child, James Meekins; and three grandchildren, Robert C. Miller III and his wife Amy, Craig W. Miller, II and F. Heath Miller. A gathering of family and friends will be noon, Sunday, Aug. 30, in the Miller's home, 31815 River Park Rd., Millington.
