Robert C. 'Bob' Waishes, 58
MILFORD - Robert C. 'Bob' Waishes, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at home. Bob was born October 27, 1950 the son of the late Edward A. and Janette (Potter) Waishes. He retired as a lieutenant, after 34 years with the Department of Corrections. He was a member of Aldersgate Wesleyan Church in Milford where he was also the Sunday School superintendent. He was very musically inclined and could play many instruments, his favorite being the saxophone and he loved singing at his church. He was a very loving father and grandfather, whose family was the most important thing to him. He enjoyed many hobbies with his familiy including fishing, the beaches, the desert in California, collecting trains and coins with his grandsons. He was a member of the United States Coast Guard, having served on Shetland Islands, Scotland, where he met and married the mother of his two daughters. He also served at the Indian River Coast Guard Station. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward H. Waishes, and G. Buddy Schuler; and a sister, Coralie W. Greenly. He is survived by his children Lisa Waishes - Cornwell and her husband Ben, of Los Angeles, CA; Bobbi L. Waishes of Milford, and their mother Margaret Morrison, of Milford; four grandsons, Kayden, Keanyn, Kye and Cooper; his sister and brother-in-law Ginger and Dave Nichols, of Louisville, KY and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends from around the world. Funeral services were Tuesday, May 12, at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Patriots Way, Millsboro. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Aldersgate Wesleyan Church, c/o Rev. Clarence Voshell, 111 Cattle Drive, Felton, DE 19943.
