OCEAN VIEW - Robert "Bob" Bergstrom, age 68, of Ocean View, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Bob was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the United States Air Force. Bob was born in Knoxville, Iowa, the son of the late, Harold and Elizabeth (Bullen) Bergstrom. He was a Cpl. for the Delaware State Police (Canine Unit), retiring in 1989 after 20 years of service. Bob also worked as a Bailiff for the Court of Common Pleas of Sussex County from 1991 to 1997. Bob was Past Master and Secretary of the Masonic Doric Lodge # 30 of Millville; member of the Grand Staff of Delaware; Past Grand Tall of Delmarva Forrest #201 Tall Cedars of Lebanon of Selbyville; and a member of the Scottish Rite of Delaware Valley. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Mary "Kelly" Bergstrom; two sons, Eric and Scott Bergstrom and his fiancé, Shannon Rekstad; daughter, Amy Ormord and her husband Robert; and two grandchildren, Tyler and Jillian. A funeral service will be noon Saturday, Aug. 15, at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services on West Avenue in Ocean View, where friends may call after 10 a.m. and a Masonic Service will be held at 11:45 a.m. Burial will be private.
