FELTON - Richard J. Fryer passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021, peacefully at home.
He was born March 21, 1956, in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania to Dorothy "Dot" Sabo Fryer and the late Warren "Cap" Fryer.
Richard Fryer also known as "Ric" was an Eagle Scout, belonging to the Arrow, and at one time was the assistant scout master. He graduated Phoenixville High School in 1974. He moved to Delaware in the late 70's being a resident of Bowers Beach for several years. There he really enjoyed helping out on the Captain's Lady charter boat and at times a commercial fisherman.
Mr. Fryer worked for Carl King as a fuel truck driver for over 25 plus years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was a big fan of being on the water, especially with a fishing rod in his hand. He loved Nascar Races and was a big fan of #88 Dale Jarrett. He also belonged to several local bass fishing clubs including Stump Jumpers, where he would have wins and great days of fishing with his friend Jimmy Myers. One of his greatest pastimes of all was being a spectator at all of his grandchildrens sporting events.
Mr. Fryer is survived by his mother, Dorothy Fryer of Spring City, Pa.; daughter, Stacey Sizemore (Wesley) of Harrington; brother, Jim Fryer (Ibi) of Limerick, Pa.; grandchildren, Jaeden, Gage, Cullen, and Emmy; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (RT 10), Dover, Del. Friends may visit one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com
