STILL POND, Md. - Richard Earl Gorsuch, 78, of Still Pond, died on Oct. 26, 2011, in University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore. Mr. Gorsuch was born on Aug. 27, 1933, in Baltimore, son of the late George & Elizabeth Jones Gorsuch. At the age of 7, he moved to Chestertown where he was a 1952 graduate of Chestertown High School and a 1956 graduate of Washington College. He had worked as a supervisor in charge of environmental and safety for 33 years for Tenneco, Nuedex, and Hulls. He was a Kent County school bus driver for special needs children for 17 years with his wife Genevieve. Mr. Gorsuch was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church where he was an Eucharistic Minister and a 4th degree Knight with the Fr. George Bradford Council of the Knights of Columbus. He was a professional Scout Master and also a member of Betterton/Still Pond Lions Club where he held multiple positions since 1968. Mr. Gorsuch is survived by his wife of 57 years, Genevieve Schauber Gorsuch; four children, Elizabeth M. Smail (Stephen) of Red Lodge, Mont., Richard E. Gorsuch Jr. (Roberta) of Roberts, Mont., Julia M. Trainor (Jim) of Lakeland, Fla., and George T. Gorsuch (Kara) of Boise, Idaho; a brother, Gilbert L. Gorsuch (Sonya) of Arkansas; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends may call on Sunday, Oct. 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Chalice and Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Oct. 31, at 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 508 High Street, Chestertown. Burial will be held privately in Still Pond Cemetery.
