Roop Sr., 68 MILFORD - Richard Allen "Dickie" Roop Sr. of Milford passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was 68. Mr. Roop was born the son of the late William A. Roop and Lavenia (Reynolds) Roop. He was a self employed mechanic for 28 years, retiring in 2008. Mr. Roop was a member of the Southern Delaware Street Rod Association and enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Richard will always be remembered by his wonderful sense of humor and the endless loving smile on his face. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Virginia (Workman) Roop; his children, Donald T. Anderson and wife Marcia, Richard A. Roop Jr. and wife Ronnie, Danny L. Anderson all of Seaford and Tammy L. Morris and husband Kenny of Milton; brothers, David A. Roop of Harrington and Harry R. Roop and wife Kimberlee of Salisbury, Md.; grandchildren, Richard A. Roop III, Allen C. English, Taylor English, Travis Anderson, Jack Morris, Kaitlyn Morris, Daniel Anderson II, Lauren Anderson and Brandon Anderson; and great grandchildren, Baylie and Averie Anderson. A viewing will be held 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, July 29, 2014 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front Street, Milford. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the funeral home. The family has requested casual attire for the services and Street Rods are welcome to participate. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Delaware Hospice 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
