
Renaldo B. Morris
Renaldo B. Morris affectionately known as "Bruce" was born on May 20, 1954 in Dover, Delaware. He earned his wings on January 28, 2023 surrounded by family. He is the son of Helen Morris and the late Thomas Morris.
Bruce was educated in the Star Hill and Greenwood School District. He graduated from Dover High School in 1972.
Bruce joined the Army in 1972 and served for twenty-four years. He married Alicia Johnson in 1973 and was married for eighteen years. From that union Makesha L. Morris was born in 1974. Bruce loved serving his country and achieved numerous awards and medals including the Army Accommodation Medal (3rd Award) US Army, Meritorious Service Medal (3rd Award), Army Achievement Medals (2nd Award), US Army (Exceptional Achievement), Army Good Conduct Medal (7th Award), National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Army Service Ribbon, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 3 (US Army) and Recruiter Ring & Gold Badge with 3 Sapphire Achievement Stars (US Army). He ultimately retired in 1996.
After his military career, he started working for Applied Card Systems. In 2008, he worked as a training specialist for Aberdeen Proving Ground and retired in 2021. Bruce was a sports guru, especially football and basketball. His favorite basketball team was the Los Angeles Lakers. He loved spending time with his companion of 30 Years Linda Thomas. Bruce loved playing pool, listening to Motown, watching westerns, and recently enjoyed TV cooking shows. He was a grill-master. Bruce prayed every day and was a man of strong faith and watched Fred Price on television before the pastor retired. His favorite scripture was Psalm 23 and 2 Corinthians Chapter 2 Verse 7. He had a heart of gold and will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
In addition to his father; Bruce was preceded in death by five brothers, Wayne Morris, Glen Morris, William Morris, Oliver Morris, and Thomas Morris. He is survived by his only child, Makesha L. Morris; one brother, Eugene Morris and his loving wife Ruth Morris; his mother, Helen Morris; his companion of 30 years, Linda Thomas; and a host of niece, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where there will be a viewing from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday. A final salute will take place after service at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear DE at 2:00 P.M.
