Raymond Thorne

FELTON - Raymond Thorne passed away Oct. 7, 2018 at Delaware Hospice. He was the son of the late Herbert and Hazel Thorne.
Raymond proudly served in the United States Army for three years.
After his time in the military, Raymond owned a gas station, worked as an auto mechanic and worked for PPG, and Playtex.
In his spare time, Raymond enjoyed playing piano, listening to music, watching business news all day, and working on cars. He was a very friendly man who was outgoing, laid back with a sense of humor. He was known for often saying "I always tried my best". He will be missed by all.
In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded by his loving wife, Berit Thorne.
Raymond is survived by his daughters, Shirley Thorne, Susanne DesGaines, and Rosemarie Braddy; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will take place at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at 1 p.m., with a visitation for family and friends, one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Hopkins Cemetery, Felton.
