Ralph E. Moore, 70

MILFORD - Ralph E. Moore of Milford died Thursday, March 15, 2007, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 70.

Mr. Moore was born in Dover, son of the late Caleb Sr. and Bessie (Collins) Moore.

He worked for E.I. DuPont for 28 years as a building mechanic, retiring in 1992.

Upon retiring, he enjoyed going to breakfast with his friends at the Milford Diner and also with the retiree's of the Seaford plant.

Mr. Moore was an avid NASCAR racing fan with his favorite drivers being David Pearson and Bill Elliott. A favorite hobby of his was collecting Beanie Babies, as this gave him an opportunity to meet and talk with new friends. He would travel the entire state looking for new Beanies.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Caleb Moore Jr. and Donald Moore; and three sisters, Pat Vincent, Shirley Moore and Thelma Moore.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Thelma Jeanette Moore; a brother, Larry Moore of Murray, Ky.; a brother-in-law, John Vincent of Wyoming.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Highway, Harrington, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
