DOVER, Del. - Ralph Christopher Allen passed away Friday, June 17, 2022, at Christiana Hospital.
Ralph was born October 4, 1964, at Kindley Air Force Base, in St. David's Island, Bermuda, to the late Thomas V. Allen, Sr. and Hettie Owens.
Ralph graduated from Dover High School in 1982. He moved to Florida for four years, before joining the Army in 1986 until 1991, serving in Desert Storm. In July 1992, he became a certified commercial diver while living in Seattle, Wash. He moved back to Dover in 1996, continuing his career, later going on to supervise several dive teams. Mr. Allen was an avid outdoorsman, spending many years as a Scout Master for Troop 142 of Clayton, Del. He loved to travel and enjoy family vacations whenever able. Ralph was a beloved family man and a cherished friend.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas V. Allen, Jr.
Mr. Allen is survived by lifelong companion of 26 years, Joan Spillane; his son, Ralph "Christopher" Allen, II; daughter, Maria Diane Allen; nephew, Christopher Allen; niece, Lauren Durk (and John) all of Dover, Del; his great nephew and great nieces of Dover, Del.; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins in VA, NJ, TX, and CA, and many, many friends.
Memorial services will be held 12 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2022, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, Delaware. Friends may visit one hour prior.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Veterans Affairs or Wounded Warrior Project.
