CHESTERTOWN - Rachel J. Geary, 93 of Foxley Manor, Chestertown, Md., died Oct. 10, 2014 in Shore Medical Center, Chestertown, MD. Mrs. Geary was born on April 12, 1921, daughter of the late Robert William and Mary Landis Johnston. She was raised in Golts and was a 1938 graduate of Galena High School. In the early 1950's she moved to Chestertown. Mrs. Geary worked for A & P in the meat department for 22 years, retiring in 1976. She was an active member of Still Pond United Methodist Church. Mrs. Geary enjoyed walking. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Warner Geary in 1978; her four brothers, Lloyd, Warren, Arthur and John Johnston; and four sisters, Ada Kennedy, Alma Walls, Helen Fillingame and Mary Emma Dill. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Charlotte Kirkwood, Robert Kennedy, Sr., Bonnie Kane, Barbara Plummer, Marty Dill and Brian Dill. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, where funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Burial in Still Pond Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to Still Pond U.M. Church, P.O.
