Phyllis Snyder Gardner, 75
SEAFORD - Phyllis Snyder Gardner, of Seaford, died on Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, in Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md. She was 75. She was born in Jones Springs, W.Va., to Wade Hampton Snyder and Ella DeHaven Snyder on Sept. 21, 1933. She was an avid gardener and loved golf, traveling and playing bridge; one of her greatest pleasures was cooking for her family and friends. Her husband of 48 years, Clarence M. "Skip" Gardner Jr., died in 2003. She was also preceded in death by her son, J. Bradford Gardner, and brothers, Lee Dick and John Bill Snyder. She is survived by her son, Clarence M. "Skip" Gardner III and his wife, Ursula and granddaughter Glynis of Bridgeville; daughters, Meg G. Bohmke and her husband David and grandchildren, Matthew, Greg and Natalie of Fredericksburg, Va., Nan Hathaway and her husband Doug and granddaughters, Caroline, Elizabeth and Hillary of Woodstown, N.J. She is also survived by her sisters, Evelyn Butts, Geneva (Penny) Burkhart, Lorna Catrow, Marvene Braithwaite, Harriet Ann West. Memorial services were Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Front St., Seaford. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to the Seaford Historical Society, 203 High St, Seaford, DE 19973. Arrangements by the Cranston Funeral Home.
