Phyllis Edith Mary Ivy

DOVER - Phyllis Edith Mary Ivy of Dover passed away, Monday, Nov. 21, 2016 at Christiana Hospital. She was 78. Mrs. Ivy was born July 15, 1938 in Willingham, England to the late Percy Jakes and Esther Elsom Jakes. She was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling, the beach and dancing. Mrs. Ivy was a member of Church of England in Mildenhall, England. Mrs. Ivy is survived by her husband of 47 years, Charles Ivy of Dover; children, Tina Sherriff and her husband Kenneth of Winfield, W.V., Robert Ivy of Atlanta, Ga., Mark Ivy and his wife Christina of Frederica, Del. and Scott Ivy of Smyrna, Del.; godson, Michael Brannon of Hartly,DE; Goddaughter, Gia Cousens; sister, Jean Elsom of Sheffield, England; grandchildren, Zachary, Rachel, Brandon, Mark, Quintin, Quade, Madeline and Saige; great grandchildren, Kyle, Elaine, Brielle and Siena. Interment will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DE 20090-6011. Letters of condolences may be sent and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
