Phillip B. "Butch" Elliott, 57
MILFORD - Phillip B. "Butch" Elliott of Milford died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, in Christiana Care-Christiana Hospital, Newark, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was 57.
Mr. Elliott was born May 11, 1950, in Milford, son of Bessie (Passwaters) Elliott Gonzalez and the late Emory Elliott.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Elliott spent several years as a self-employed truck driver before taking employment with R.A.M. Construction in Frederica.
He left the construction company to accept a position with the state of Delaware in physical plant maintenance for DelDOT in Magnolia, where he had been employed for the last 14 years.
Mr. Elliott was also a co-owner with his wife, Bonnie, of the Shawnee Kennels in Milford and formerly of Elliott"s Game Birds.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He enjoyed bass fishing as well as salt water fishing and had recently become involved with racing homing pigeons.
Mr. Elliott is survived by his wife of 30 years, Bonnie G. Elliott; a brother, William "Billy" Elliott of Houston; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Marie Green; a sister-in-law, Shirley Miller and her husband, Larry; a niece, Cindy Wootten, her husband, Drew and their son, Conner, all of Milford; and two sons, Timothy Elliott and Bryan Elliott, both of Milford.
Services and burial will be private at Mr. Elliott"s request before his death.
Instead of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to Debbie"s Fund (A Friend to Animals), c/o Felton Bank, 698A N. DuPont Highway, Milford, DE 19963, Attn: Dee Andrews; or to the Kent County S.P.C.A., 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
