Phillip Allan Lane

DOVER - Phillip Allan Lane passed away, Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, in Kent General Hospital, Dover. Phillip was born, April 25, 1945, in Dover, to the late, August and Mary (Virdin) Lane. Mr. Lane had worked for 26 years, as a quality control engineer for General Foods. Then after retiring, he began a new career as the "tool man" at Lowes, in Camden for the past 15 years. Phillip served proudly in the United States Army, during the Vietnam War; then spent time in the Army Reserves. He served as a Captain of the Civil Air Patrol; and has been a Ham Radio Operator since high school. He loved gardening, and tools; doing anything mechanical, and flying in airplanes. In addition to his parents, Phillip is preceded in death by a sister, Penelope Lane Kruse. Mr. Lane is survived by his wife of 45 years, Virginia (Barton) Lane; three children, Scott Lane, Christopher Lane and wife, Diane; and Laurie B. Lane, all of Dover; and a granddaughter, Ariana Lane. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming; where family and friends may view from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 422 South Governors Ave., Dover, DE 19904.
