Percy P. 'Pete' Eaton Sr., 71

RIDGELY, Md. - Percy P. "Pete" Eaton Sr. of Ridgely passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at his home. He was 71.

Mr. Eaton was born Dec. 23, 1935, in Easton, son of the late Harry and Anna (Pinder) Eaton.

A lifetime Ridgely resident, he worked for the former Southern States feed mill in Ridgley, Dave Walls Trucking and Doug West Trucking.

Most recently, Mr. Eaton was employed with David A. Bramble as a traffic safety coordinator.

He as a lifetime member of the Ridgely Volunteer Fire Co.

Mr. Eaton enjoyed NASCAR racing, camping, horse racing, golfing and hunting.

He loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Doris Mae (Buckle) Eaton, on July 14, 2007; and five siblings, Austin Hopkins, Preston Eaton, Paul Eaton, Edna Palmatory and Brenna Morris.

He is survived by two sons, Robin Sr. and wife Debbie Eaton and Pee Wee Eaton, all of Ridgely; two daughters, Connie and husband Donnie Baker of Ridgely and Bonnie Eaton-Elliott of Reliance; two brothers, Jim Eaton and Russell Eaton, both of Ridgely; three sisters, Velma Breeding of Bridgeville, Del., Florence Cronshaw of Denton and Anna Mae Walls of Ridgely; four grandchildren, Robin Eaton Jr., Lori Stafford, Rick Baker and Danielle Middleton; six great-grandchildren, Brandon Eaton, Alex Eaton, Ashlyn Stafford, Jalyn Stafford, J.T. Coultas and Brett Baker.

A visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W. Sunset Ave., Greensboro.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Ridgely Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be offered to the Ridgely Volunteer Fire Co., P.O. Box 425, Ridgely, MD 21660.
