HARRINGTON - Peggy Schwartz passed away at home on Thursday, February 2, 2023. Peggy was born in Milford, DE to the late, Ruth Jones and Carvil Hurd, Sr.
Peggy worked as an office administrator and a tax preparer for many years. She most recently worked for Jackson-Hewitt. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, cross stitch, and cooking. In her younger days, she enjoyed bowling on a league.
You can describe Peggy in one word, family. Her family was everything to her. She took great care of her family and was everything to everyone. She was the best mother and best friend to her daughter, Michele. While Michele was at work, she helped watch her children. Her life truly revolved around her family, and she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her absence will leave a hole that can never be filled, and will be forever missed.
She is survived her husband of 53 years, Joseph Schwartz; daughter, Michele (Antonio) Haigler; brother, Carvil Hurd, Jr.; sister in law, Linda Gaudet; niece, Jo-Allynn; nephews, Matthew and Douglas; grandchildren, Joseph Griffith, Anias Haigler, Danta Haigler, Destiny Haigler; great grandchild, Kasen Griffith, and one on the way.
Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Peggy, will be on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE, at 11AM. A public visitation will start at 10AM.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, please visit us at www.melvinfuneralhome.com to express or send condolences.
