SEAFORD - Pegeen T. Brown of Seaford, formerly of Shrewsbury, Pa. and Baltimore, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, in Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. She was 50.
Mrs. Brown was a dedicated kindergarten teacher at Woodbridge Elementary School.
She loved to sing and host her St. Patrick"s Day parties and was famous for her corned beef and cabbage.
She believed in hugging her friends often.
Mrs. Brown was a member of AAUW, the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and was chairperson of this year"s hospital dinner/auction. She was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Seaford and was active in Our Lady of Grace and St. Francis of Assisi churches when she lived in Baltimore.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Samantha "Sam" Brown who died in a car accident on Jan. 24, 2007.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Thomas E. Brown; her daughter, Anne C. Brown; her mother, Helen E. O"Neill of Baltimore; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Kathleen O"Neill, Sheila and Steve Donahue, Maureen and Jack Ciesielski, Sharon O"Neill, Siobhan O"Neill, Moira and Greg Atkinson, Deirdre O"Neill; and a brother and a sister-in-law, Michael and Mary Ann O"Neill.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St., Seaford.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Stein Highway, Seaford.
Burial will be private.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Nanticoke Health Services Auxiliary Dinner/Auction, The Pegeen and Samantha Brown Pediatric Fund, Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, c/o Renee Morris, 801 Middleford Road, Seaford, DE 19973.
