OKEECHOBEE - Pearline Thomas died Sunday, April 26, 2009, at Raulerson Hospital, Okeechobee. Born Sept. 14, 1931, in Concorde, N.C., she had been a resident of Okeechobee for 25 years coming from Neptune, N.J. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church and the Red Hatters. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Thomas. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Givens of Okeechobee; companion of 43 years, Willie Edward Finney of Asbury Park, N.J.; daughter, Maryella Thomas of Okeechobee; sons, George Thomas, of Atlanta, Ga., Willie Thomas of Neptune, N.J., Woodie Thomas of Crawfordville, and Darrin Wilkerson of California. In addition she is survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A Memorial Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Okeechobee. All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory, 110 NE 5th Street, Okeechobee.
